A beach smiles behind tinted shades, laid out ‘til sunburn under a blanket of sea drift. The tint is pool blue. Pool blue stains every grain of sand. A handsome youth rolls the rod of an umbrella downward, deeper and deeper into the soft sand.
A ship from the Two of Pentacles’ roller coaster ocean sails parallel to the left dimple of the smiling beach. We feel the moon bounce off the turbulence, yet we are at ease, completely unwound. The turbulence is manageable at mid-tempo - easy to trace, easy to handle. Ivy Leaguers stroll by, passing bottles of anotec back and forth.
From an airplane window, we see it all. Jacuzzi bubbles rabidly possess us, then eliminate choice. The only thing left to do is unwind further, deeper and deeper, as we sip tropical algicides and take in the scenery.
