A slice of Anytown, USA mad scientist miscellany, we have here a “new sound expression for 2018” from Beau Devereaux (a.k.a. Samantha Glass). Bridle joins the Austin, Texas dweller’s many sonic aliases with four tracks of light industrial noise, contemplative synth notes, and the ever inquisitive sensibilities of the producer’s past works. As a new sonic outlet for Beau, Forward Motion Plus Volume One is a brilliant, brief glimpse of his latest dark electronic voyage. “Bare With Me” rides sinister synths and scratching beats, while opener “Construction” combines ambient techno backdrops with scuzzy electronics. It all lasts a mere twenty minutes, and is a subtle, underrated entry into the Bandcamp/streaming ether. Dip your toes in the water, and you might find yourself diving in headfirst. Stream below, and cop one of the few remaining physical copies while you can.
