I saw Dean Cercone’s first-ever set in Brooklyn at Silent Barn a few years back, in town from Pittsburgh, and performing and holding his own alongside a pretty amazing showcase of far-out-there acts. Back then, his set was minimal and guitar-oriented, but still experimental in nature. Since then, Cercone’s only continued to develop immensely as a songwriter, and his material has likewise. DREAM MONUMENT; KNOW TO SELF, released back at the beginning of January, is his weirdest, most mature, most accomplished, vibrant, and just plain bonkers release of his yet. Stream it below, or at his Bandcamp page.
