It’s interesting to see a rise in “preach” moments on recent albums release by L’Orange, Beyonce, Kanye, Dean Blunt, Kendrick Lamar, etc. Another intriguing factor is projects like Serpentwithfeet, Arca, and Perfume Genius have now personified this perpetual idea of “preach” in music. Also, random, but equally endearing in the topic of “preach:” James Brown. What’s important to note is that there are still underground scenes still praising how the influences mustered up “preach.” It’s this sort of faith in preservation of sound that Jack Martin brings in the new Acorn Tapes short-run (but still available digitally) release, Praise. There’s comfort after Slang in Trance mix, and Praise continues to restore listener’s [young] faith in Jack Martin’s ears. Stethoscope, please:
