When you sprain an ankle, the possibility of further damage is supremely heightened if proper treatment isn’t followed. Icing, elevation, and rest are all equally important in healing the potentially damaged tendons. And just like caring for an injured ankle, smoking some ice, getting elevated by said ice, and kicking back to rest and relax is just as integral when listening to this new Jah Connery tape.
Okay, so maybe (definitely) you shouldn’t smoke meth, but I think the other two still apply to this specific album. The Lightest Bag at the Potluck/Hey So What, Watch This Place Blow Up is a perfect kick back and smoke something (NOT ICE!!) listen. Chock-full of steady drums, vinyl vocal snippets, and noddy samples, synths and squiggles, this is a beat-tape in the classic sense of the phrase. It’s raw and dependable, and flips like a flapjack.
