Broken records surround each and every lowly music blogger; “Year-End Season” brings all the TMT writer top-## lists in our private forums. It’s cool getting feedback from what I may have miss-out on this year, so in light of that, I looked up and listened to John K. Samson’s Winter Wheat. Having recently (FINALLY) gotten into Carrie & Lowell, a lot of Sufjan fans were also really into Winter Wheat, and I figured I’d take a listen since I sleep on this sorta music only because of personal prejudice. But I cannot get into John K. Samson.
Winter Wheat is definitely the kind music you can listen to after getting up earlier on a Saturday morning to cook brunch, which is nice. Although, most nights I stay up to late worshiping the goddess of dance, or demon of writing — sometimes both — thus, Saturday “mornings” are spent with a pillow over my face. Listen for yourself, though. Winter Wheat just might be your game changer for the end of 2016:
