In May, Josephine Foster & The Victor Herrero Band will release their second collection of Spanish folk song called Perlas via Fire Records. The album, which follows 2010’s Anda Jaleo, sees the group drawing directly from the folk traditions of Castile, the Basque, Santander, and the Costa Brava, with songs and poems handpicked by Foster. It’s a really fantastic record, and makes me even more excited for Foster’s solo follow-up to 2010’s Graphic as a Star (no word yet a new solo album, but I’m still excited anyway — leave me alone!).
