What have you been up to lately? Cramming your face full of chips and soda while watching Game of Thrones? Yeah, me too. I guess not everyone can be as productive as James Kirby. This year, we’re lucky enough to be getting two albums by The Caretaker plus another under his Leyland Kirby moniker, along with a series of white label 12-inch records (TMT News). This flood of releases even led a fellow TMTer to refer to Kirby as “ballin’outofcontrol,” and I wouldn’t disagree.
The first of these 12-inch releases is already available in the UK and should be available in the States soon. For your pleasure, stream Kirby’s interpretation of John Denver’s “Annie’s Song” renamed “Ruined Visions” from the first volume of Intrigue & Stuff. Meanwhile, The Wire is offering a 45-minute in-depth interview with Kirby from his Mutek performance last year, which you can stream here.
