Magic Fades did it again. And by “IT” I mean the fucker turn’t another pop release into a mad-scientist computer experiment, titling it, WET TECH. Drenched in conceptual acumen, WET TECH blends the idea of remix culture with standard “single” [radio-play] elements that both challenge and delight the audible senses, that leave listeners begging for more. Seriously, I’ve listened to WET TECH just about all day on three different web-browsers (because Bandcamp doesn’t understand TMT support every time I click repeat), and the only thing I wish Magic Fades did differently was add more tracks. However, that’s the dichotomy, isn’t it? You can’t have exceptionally exploratory music without artists taking their sweet time and putting patient care into works.
The curiosity of direction is on the forefront-audio in WET TECH as one cannot predict the deviation of pouring water or control of chance-technology. Thematically, these bewildering elements steer the fragmented pop defined in high quality sounds surrounding listeners senses. All of the senses. As if one were to just close their eyes and experience Magic Fades as a reality upon clicking the PLAY button below. Serenity is exactly how WET TECH proceeds and perplexity is the form of art Magic Fades leads listeners into the audio abyss.
