A couple years back, Nate Wooley released The Seven Storey Mountain with David Grubbs (Gastr del Sol, Squirrel Bait) and improv extraordinaire Paul Lytton. TMT reviewer Elliott Sharp gave it 4/5. This year, our mammoth trumpeter returns with the same idea — “tape manipulation, long forms with simple written musical directions, an attempt to reach some sort of musical ecstaticism” — but performed with different artists: none other than bald-headed beauty Chris Corsano on drums and C.
