Sorta like when Pitchfork relates something to The Swans or Michael Gira, The Oscillation’s newest jam “Truth In Reverse” off their Hands in the Dark Records LP Monographic continues to instill that same gothic-tinged, heavy-driven dark pop that broods in the blood of readers when even considering the conglomerated publication’s opinion. Thinking of “Truth In Reverse” as stability for continuing the labels venture into the crevasse that shadow the underground in musical infamy, Hands in the Dark reigns upon their continuity by only remaining consistent in discography, but always providing a new take on the feel. Within this realm, The Oscillation just strolls through a cavern walled with skulls as insulation, and no matter what echos back, there’s always a chill that beacons from the inside-out. And with subtleties like like pairing acoustic and electric guitars, “Truth In Reverse” is a real ultimate (and I mean more than seven-minutes of ultimate) testament to Monographic. So grip it now before that dark night comes and you’ve just Marilyn Manson CDs scratched an still laying around like middle school, because we all know now that zone must be fulfilled by The Oscillation.
