Bushwick’s thrash trio Retail are apparently as straightforward as they come, what with a new EP that came out at the end of last October simply titled “DIE,” but if you ever want to look past the noise (for whatever reason, I can’t think of any, really), you won’t have to look too hard to see these clowns have some genuine skill in the songwriting department (check the title track, and “Sadder”), which they employ, economically, as needed.
