I can’t remember if Rick made it before, during (!!!!!!!), or after a big upstate NY hike, but “Dreams of Getting Rich (Bitrmix 122 bpm)” is for sure the energy we’ve been waiting for this week. And energy is exactly what’s being manipulated here.
“Dreams of Getting Rich (Bitrmix 122 bpm)” presents a soiree of time signatures that ultimate collide with a 122 bpm rhythm that coalesces the entire piece. Sirens slowly signaling shifts. A melody so broken and hushed that tells a story of why. Harmonized synthetics popping and tingling toward the tracks climax. Remix riddims to start it all out. But (again) the captain of “Dreams of Getting Rich (Bitrmix 122 bpm)” is its drums, grasping for air in the chaos of all the sound.
