It took a good two years, but it was ultimately worth the wait for the Bushwick- and Tri-state area-based Robot Death Kites to follow up their first release — a rough collection of songs reportedly ‘recorded on a 4 track cassette records in a shitty basement’ — with the EP Yuppie Nightmare earlier this year in June.
Nightmare finds the self-styled ‘Sunshine’ and co. honing their songwriting skills, which are complemented by the much-improved production value, and one needn’t look any further than formidable tracks like “No Thanks” and “Sleep Deprived” for proof: Few seem to be as interested in, or perhaps capable, of making sure they sound as good as possible when thrashing out.
