The first taste of Sat. Nite Duets in over two years, Smoke Local Twine is a welcome return for the Midwest rockers. Their last release, Air Guitar, was as close to a “perfect” record as you can get, and this three track EP picks up where they left off, and expands on and builds their power-pop sound for those discerning 2018 ears. Where their earlier material played on slacker alt rock tropes, with lyrics that explored the dynamic between becoming an adult while still drinking beers and going to weeknight shows, Smoke Local Twine is a little darker and, dare I say, rawer?
