Two new jewels from Kyoto’s hoge tapes—In the Sento by Kyoto-based guitarist 山内弘太 (Kota Yamauchi) all blotched and misty as curtains of watercolors rising in the hot baths, and 朝昼兼用 (I don’t want to trust Google Translate with this) from Osaka’s くまちゃんシール (Kuma-chan seal). Swaddling synth pop riffs and bedroom beats carry a voice as sweet as any, and even more.
