Wow, it’s finally happening. Back in 2013, Vektroid, the enigmatic producer best known as Macintosh Plus, had just started working with Houston rapper Siddiq on a new collaborative release. Coming up on three years later and we’re just now getting the first official taste. Titled “Yukko,” the epic track is over seven minutes long, masterfully flowing through a series of unexpected shifts in tone, pitch, and rhythm. It’s an uncompromising listen, with digital shrapnel, deep bass, and a chopped-and-screwed aesthetic laying a dark foundation for Siddiq to fuck around on.
