Expertly delivered filth is some pure art. Look at John Water’s movies or him just talking. Fuck, even the GAH-RAAG scene in UK got that Grime. With footwork, there’s an entirely separate angle to mastering filth. Could be the sample that’s complete filth and using it in a different context makes the sound glimmer. Could be a gorgeous sample flipped and blown out into just a pile of filthy rhythms that blend as much as oil does in a pool of water. Sirr Tmo continues the evolution of this progression in footwork with his newest EP TEK x TAR Vol. 7 on deep-fam, brow blotter label,TEK x TAR Vol. 7.
Try and break down each of Sirr Tmo’s three new songs individually, and we can be here all week. Turn’t the bass in your car, and TEK x TAR Vol. 7 is the last thing your woofers will EVER (need to) hear. The blend of old and new sounds. Snares becoming a sample then taken from a synthetic sound. Orchestrated loops orchestrated in juked out rational. It’s entirely a statement in finding beauty. Can you battle to this? Of course. Can you critique the blended anachronistic measures of music making? Absolutely! Is Sirr Tmo’s TEK x TAR Vol. 7 worth just listening to and feeling IDGAF after?
