Though hardly indebted to today’s “NOW That’s What I Call Wavy” rap movement, the latest by Slauson Malone and Medhane makes me get how someone could be into both trap-hop crooning and free jazz. Here, the fusion of stretched syllables to skittish rhythms is seamless as can be without sacrificing essential materials (like, you know, actual rapping abilities) for glossy finishes. These gentlemen have got my number.
