What I find interesting about the Swim Team crew is they all work off each other. But in a brevity way. Think about the SWIMTEAM_RADIO sessions and how they “edit” each other’s tracks, back and forth; oh, do these SWIM TEAM TRAX 1 sound familiar, chances are you heard ‘em all on Swim Team’s SoundCloud via SWIMTEAM_RADIO mixes. Anyhow, yeah — they not only push music upon each other, and influence their sounds, but also rearrange tracks they’ve made into their own versions. How does is this brevity? Well, as they’re all pals, they grow their friendships through, “Hey, I made edits MY WAY on your track, and pretty much, you gotta deal with it.” Thus, building a relationship between each other, and instigating change and fluctuation within their sounds. Beyond that, as they all don’t live in NYC, but all around the New England area, they front within a digital culture, binding digitally driven music, behind a digitally drawn interface of PC. Everyone but Izy, ‘cause Izy lays it out on the vocal clean, and get’s fucking gritty in the process.
Below, SWIM TEAM TRAX 1 is streaming, but it’s flagrantly not as good as the real thing. Build a friendship with Swim Team on the creepy. Snag a LIMITED EDITION (of 100) tape and get your fucking feet moving on the reel.
