And your strapped down to an altar chiseled from marble, surrounded by bronze statues of draped women and men, each holding libation bowls and incense boxes; standing above you — between the temple ceiling and the crude straps around your wrists and ankles — stands a figure cloaked in grey robed material, hooded, and wearing a mask, wielding a dagger tied to their wrist. You break free of a crude strap and suddenly your taking off a mask and finding you’re the cloaked figure standing over your writhing body, having already stabbed yourself on the sacrificial table, bleeding out in a river that leads to a lake just feet outside the temple. Looking into this reflection that swirls a mirror’s frame in blood around the face upon your head, suddenly it’s a museum, and that same air you’re breathing is all at once stifled and filled with sacrificial offering. The word NEMI echos out within this air and “ambiente . càuto” and “déntro” trickle there-after. The UMANZUKI is near, and their pulsating vibe is beckoning a fresh traveler.
Luckily Beer On The Rug captivated these entrancing tones by UMANZUKI! NEMI is available in digital format NOW, teasing listeners with “ambiente . càuto” and “déntro” on Bandcamp (streamable below), and will be released on CD in the near future. So find yourself killing yourself then becoming yourself in a different… yourself:
