This is a free download for all of you, from all of us at New York Haunted. We wanted to share with you some of our fav presets and create tracks with them in which they are still recognizable. This is not some ironic hipster joke, this is us paying tribute to the men and women that created banks upon banks of presets for the gear we like to use. We hear ya, and even though we don’t use the presets, we appreciate the thoughts of adding them to the instruments! We are forever IN DEBT TO THE PRESET!
Some recognizable patterns float to the surface, like on Kai Van Dongen’s “NYH Preset Track.” Other presets are sloshed, sluiced, surely incomprehensible to those less well-versed in gear (i.e., me) — “Cher Boleh” presents a cacophony of jostling voices, while Mrs. Dink keeps her “Big Finish” bubbling beneath the surface. Mike Davis’s spacey roller could be your latest DJ tool. The ever-ubiquitous “hoover” gets the DyLAB amen treatment. Whatever your poison, this latest comp from Drvg Culture’s New York Haunted label might just keep you amongst it. Pay it forward:
