Tiny Mix Tapes has teamed with Tabs Out for a show called Laser Focus, in which tape aficionados/fetishists Mike Haley, Dave Doyen, and Joe B hone in on a specific label or artist. For the fourth time in as many years, lovers of eccentric, eclectic, and engaging sounds will gather in Denver, CO for the Goldrush Music Festival. This year’s lineup includes a diverse faction of acts from near and far, including Wolf Eyes, Eric Copeland (Black Dice), Mount Eerie, Clipping, Guerilla Toss, Good Willsmith, Kevin Greenspon, Sparkling Wide Pressure, and more. Tabs Out spoke with Crawford Philleo, one of the fest’s founders and current organizers (and TMT lackey), about years past and what to expect on September 13-14.
We also jammed out to some choice tracks from several Goldrush companion tape cassette compilations, made each year (sans the inaugural bash), featuring mostly exclusive cuts from artists performing that year.
