Y’all KNEW 1080p would pick up the mastermind sounds of Angel 1. It’s not like I haven’t been exploring his sounds either. Just 1080p seems to be running the conceptual-“techno” release game throughout 2014, and I’ve yet to hear anything by Angel 1 that ISN’T conceptually driven by listener creativity. And maybe I just told 1080p that I want to wear Angel 1’s skin when it’s ready to be taken, but they sent me of a “Which track do YOU want to premiere?” e-mail, and didn’t want ANYTHING else, but “Shrubb.” So here’s the bad-boii on the audio low:
I don’t make music, so I’m very NOT used to sound deployment as a creative implementation. Hearing Angel 1’s mind while “Shrubb” plays its three minute and 20 seconds of wrong-/right-turns, drifted out beats that have EVERYTHING (nothing) to do with the keys being fiddled, a looped-out sample that gets flashed into the track like a blessing/virus in disguise. I don’t want to know what’s happening here. As well, I appreciate not being able to fuck with or break “Shrubb” down because it’s all a melt of color than can only be found in smallest region your brain. If you choose to activate it, snag Angel 1’s newest tape Allegra Bin 1 off 1080p Collective ASAP, even if it comes in November 18.
