As there has been plenty of anti-folk that’s abound the times of musical releases, Così e Così is probably making the first attempt to drag that same subversion and mockery with rap. By continuing to refine his meta-existential motifs, Così e Così dares to drop the first single “V. Ferrari” off Self Titled To Untitled as a video, visualizing the same satire and silliness of his lyrics (i.e., “I fucking sample myself”) through computer to recorder to etc. Really, ever since seeing his penis at work has changed me, check him clothed:
Self Titled To Untitled also just helps Così e Così perpetuate his (northern) North American (Montréal to be exact) outsider sludge-crooning, akin to Dracula Lewis (Italy), Chicklette (Baltimore), and DJ Dog Dick (Rockaway), but with a self-established sound. There’s a darkness that seems to be steaming out from Così e Così in Self Titled To Untitled like seeing breath in the winter-time, only it’s being managed by the measure of lyrical precautions, and harnessed through surrounding beats and atmospheric swelling. If you’re interested in witnessing this bit of self immersion, you can scope Così e Così on tour. TOUR DETAILS HERE and Self Titled To Untitled is ready to stream (below) NOW, while the CD (and booklet, oooo) come out tomorrow. Do it:
