With just over a week left before the release of her new album Demon City, Elysia Crampton shares an exclusive song from Adult Swim’s ongoing Singles Program. And it’s a gorgeous one. On “Flora’s Theme,” Crampton navigates a lush digital landscape, coiled around ascending harmonies and effusive shrieking. Its brash effects and dramatic sweeps are softened into workable poetics, the totaled angelica reshaped into a biota flourishing with queerness and teeming with resistance.
TMT has the pleasure of premiering “Flora’s Theme,” which you can hear below. It’s the eighth single in Adult Swim’s Singles Program, which has already released exclusive tracks from DJ Paypal, D∆WN, Clark, and Ryan Hemsworth.
Crampton’s new album Demon City (with Rabit, Chino Amobi, Why Be, and Lexxi) is out July 22 on Break World Records.
