The sincerity of outsider pop these days is sort of that blend between how well you can use your equipment in a beautiful dichotomy of vocal and instrumental sounds. Like, how blown out or wonderous can you make your vocal sound before it’s purely just pouring from your pores. Or making it sound like some of what you’re doing is completely controlled, and various other aspects just dip in and out without hesitation. As if it’s all intrigued by composed impatience. CUE: Pleasure Cruise Press’ first cassette by LIQUID SKULLS/LACHANE.
As a Split, you can hear similarities in both LIQUID SKULLS and LACHANE, yet each are vying for a piece of enlightenment within the sound of character. Like how a vine will only entwine something else, unless something else is THERE. If not, you got flat-ass beans, yo. LIQUID SKULLS and LACHANE pushes the boundaries of where to grow, but musically. I just thought I heard a lamb, but I’m pretty sure it was someone screaming out. But it’s a good look to release a split FIRST on a new label. I believe NNA Tapes did the same thing with 0PN, and they still kicking. So listen to Pleasure Cruise Press’ first CS by LIQUID SKULLS/LACHANE below, and grip a copy before all 50 are GONE:
