Another little ditty off the upcoming compilation Kudatah Vol.1 out August 1 on Plastic Response, and this time — aside from the recent TMT premiere of Tendencies’ “♥”, who is also the curator of this compilation — featuring Mathis Ruffing is twisting up the nightlife air with “Dolomit.” With a run-away beat on cymbal and snare, bass-lining a low end to move and ensure the floor is never as still as the night’s sky, melodizing flutes in an array of harmony, bubbling an energy that’s all-together the bouncer, DJ, bartender and club owner. And as “Dolomit” is in the midst of a slew of other top-notch productionists on Kudatah Vol.1 — although varying in style and genre — there’s an interesting pairing between the heightened level of mix-mastering and sound engineering with Mathis Ruffing. It’s as if Mathis knows the key to mind-teleportation, dream-stating listeners in rural and urban terrains, harnessing an atmosphere akin to neon mist and dense sweat.
Feel “Dolomit” on Kudatah Vol.1 this August 1 on Plastic Response, ‘cause Mathis Ruffing makes such an impression on your ear canals, you’ll never need to shut it off, as it hums through your head for eternity.
