The video for Paperbark’s “Last Night,” off of their new tape on Frankfurt’s Seil Records, is a trippy, kaleidoscopic collage of archival footage and hallucinatory animations and effects. The slow moving images, produced by Brian Ratigan of Non Films, pair perfectly with the lugubrious ambience and drone Paperbark creates. As Seil writes, “‘Last Night’ conjures up those lost photo albums with pages stuck together, faded polaroids tucked away in an old junk drawer and dusty reel to reel films stored in a box with that smell of nostalgia.” While the cassette copies are sold out, you can still cop the digital album here, and stream that video below.
