My first encounter with bounce music came courtesy of the one and only Big Freedia, on tour in Milwaukee, WI, back in 2010. It was one of the most energetic live sets I’ve ever seen, as everyone in the crowd was getting wild. I haven’t had much interaction with the genre since then, of course listening to and loving new singles, but retreating further and further into grumpy old man territory by not going out to shows. And as I soon as I say this Schwarz and 333 Boyz drop the new video for “Bounce It,” a banging tune from November 2015 featuring New Orleans hip-hop/bounce singer BJ So Cole. The track is a wild party starter, with Schwarz and 333 Boyz’s production bringing in elements of bounce, dance and, dare I say, a little EDM “in the mix”? The video, directed by Rand Sevilla and shot in L.A., of course features a lot of bouncin’ from Bj So Cole himself, and I’m pretty sure Schwarz himself makes a quick cameo at the beginning as a background dancer. “Bounce It” is still available as a name your price download from Schwarz’s Nina Pop. It’s heating up all over the country so you might as well add this to your party playlist ASAP.
