Just last week, Slim Twig — a.k.a. Max Turnbull — premiered the video for “Slippin’ Slidin’,” the intro track to his forthcoming (and fifth) full-length, Thank You For Stickin’ With Twig. This week, he drops a remix of the track, courtesy of TMT favorite Eric Copeland (Black Dice, Terrestrial Tones). What was once a “cock rock analogue to Kanye West’s similarly phallic ‘On Sight’” has now stretched into a hypnotic club banger in the hands of Copeland. The vocal-less remix sits in an entirely different dimension, its forward-momentum undercutting the original’s crunchy immediacy in favor of a more transitional, moodier headspace.
