Algodón Egipcio is a tuneful songwriter with hummable hooks for days yet his music sports a maximalist fractured electronic sound with results that are surprisingly sunny and cheerful as well as layered and challenging. His new video for his latest single off 2015’s La Confianza Ciega reflects the music in pretty much the same terms: Digital, glitchy, noisy, upbeat and quirky; linking it with his previous video for “La Estrella Irregular” from the same album. Director Proceso Inútil executed a great visual counterpart to Cheky Bertho’s charismatic take on polyglot pop.
