I just saw this cool new, samurai-sword-centric animated video for the ASM (A State of Mind) song “Masking”—which, in addition to swords, anime people w/ those impressive cartoon-physiques holding swords, light glinting in various cool ways off of swords, etc., TOTALLY ALSO features one of your favorite hip hop artists MF Doom (as “King Dumile”)—and surprise, surprise: it made me think of you! <3 <3 <3
It comes from ASM’s new concept album, The Jade Amulet, in which all the featured-artists (and DOOM in this case, duh, LOL!) play characters. What’s the concept? Oh, just that of “a forgotten ancient world of blood-stained samurai swords and majestic sunsets over desert landscapes, illuminated over oceans of space and time by the glowing radiance of The Jade Amulet beaming out from the dusty cover of an old leather book.” You know, the USUAL! :) :) :)
Oh, yes. It also comes with a cute little 40-page comic book when you order it, and I know you always loved to read those silly things. Not that they’re SILLY really, but you know what I mean… All those bloody army guys! Anyway, I hope everything in L.A. is going well! Say “hi” to the Weinsteins for me, and email me back and let me know about Thanksgiving this year (Dad was thinking of ordering a Turkey direct from the guy at our Farmers’ Market, but he wanted to know how about many pounds to aim for).
