Oh, DAMN, Brogan Bentley has a voice beyond the beat. Last I heard of the dude was his Self-Titled (three-track) EP on Leaving Records a few years ago, and it was ULTRA-lax’d. But the boii got a set of vocal chords! Very nice. It also fits in with a slew of artfully and individual vocal artists already adorning the Leaving Records name, such as Julia Holter, Diva (via Moon Moods), and Ryan York. Kinda mostly just stoked on this voice working so well with the music that’s been previously fronted by Bentely. His voice is brooding yet sincere, pensive yet unabashed, expectant yet impatient. He wants it all, but take your time. Best part is not some ploy or joke. Ain’t no irony or goofing, no. this is straight up “The Difference.” The mark has been made. We’ll expect a little something extra now from you Brogan Bentley.
