True to his practice as a thoroughly interdisciplinary artist, the work of Devin KKenny, the slightly altered music pseudonym of Devin Kenny, has never attempted to subscribe to the pretense of any conceptual division between art – understood in the most general sense – and music, such that his output becomes hard to categorize under one or the other. Case in point, having premiered on MOCAtv just last week, “LANyards” is the latest video/single off the artist and songwriter’s rather ‘hi-concept’ 2014 album Alone We Play, in which KKenny takes under various different aliases for twenty-nine tracks which find him at his most musically conceptually experimental, and features a group of young government agents presumably sabotaging subversion under the guise of an advertising agency.
