As the leaves on the trees in North London slowly turn yellow and orange and red and brown (eventually morphing into a weird mush on the wet pavement), Leaaves’s “Forever&&&” slowly increases in power. The subtly melancholic and obviously dense piece which appears on Old Coast - the NY artist’s first vinyl release - now exists alongside a charming, yet lonely video created by Jemina Ainesmaa. Sad bears, longing for an embrace. Shots of the sky from an airplane, as lovers travel halfway across the globe to reunite. “Forever&&&” is simply beautiful, especially alongside its video. It’s a sigh of a song; a gentle reminder to appreciate the good moments when you’re in them, and to keep looking for them when they seem far away.
