Like adding cream to your cream soda, RVNG Intl.’s pairing of contemporary synth-whisperer Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe with veteran multi-instrumentalist Ariel Kalma for the newest installment of the FRKWYS series has proven to be utterly delectable. In addition to the serendipitous sonic collaboration that resulted in an album titled Somehow We Know Each Other, a film documentary titled Sunshine Soup is to be released in accompaniment with the record. The newest segment to be unveiled from the film is set to the new piece “Strange Dreams.” The film features grainy black-and-white footage of the remote Australian coastline, where French-born Kalma has established his experimentalist hermitage and studio, as well as where the album was conceived. Static meditative shots of the artists appear throughout this video, further exposing the truly special connection that these two artists had when making this record.
