I had a worrying amount of fun compiling a murder-suicide mixtape. Side A is loud and largely either angry or sinister, starting with this year’s best 10-minute lead single from the Knife. The next 3 tracks are big, loud, and aggressive, while the last song on Side A is more paranoid, like the first one. Side B is a mix of angry and quiet/sad, culminating in this hypothetical person’s lowest point in life when their very real sadness is glaringly contrasted with the world’s best fake party anthem. Not only does it reinforce how alone this person is, but it also could be the world suggesting that it could be a good night for everyone if this person met their end.
