Paris-based, Iranian duo Nima Aghiani and Sara Bigdeli Shamloo — who record as 9T Antiope — are presumably very happy to be sharing new music. Their third album Nocebo simultaneously follows and expands upon 2017’s Isthmus. As it is the second installment of a trilogy titled Isthmus:Nocebo:Placebo, we now collectively arrive at the mid-point of this sonic journey.
In a press release, the duo describe the album as follows:
“Nocebo recounts the stories of beings, who have given up on their space and time, thus forcing themselves into complete isolation and eventually a self-induced comatose state. The coma state within Nocebo is explored through a text and imagery which still remains inside the brains of these beings – while simultaneously addressing the personal experiences of the artists’ own loved ones.”
