Live at Ungano’s documents a punishing Stooges set from August 17, 1970 in the small NYC Upper West Side club Ungano’s and contains two unreleased tracks (yay!) and versions of the entire Fun House album’s songs (yay!)… minus “L.A. Blues” (boo!). Stooges! Yay! The original vigilantes are back!

To ensure that tomorrow, November 16, 2010, will go down in history as “International Day of The Stooge,” Rhino will also be re-releasing their popular Stooges Fun House seven-CD box set that first appeared in 1999 in a limited run of 3000 copies. Those who lust for overkill will be salivating, because this box has the complete seven-hour, 52-minute recording sessions from May 1970. Does it contain multiple takes of “Loose?” Yep, 20-something versions of it! Bits of backroom blathering? Check one, check two, check out all 33 of them! In fact, this set is so complete, the only things missing in this collection are an unreleased mid-day toilet recording by Iggy (“Gruntie” [Take 4]) and complete audio of the Asheton brothers double barreling groupie icons Cynthia Plaster Caster and Pamela des Barres.
