While my local record store has been having a problem keeping up with all the kids wanting Vampire Weekend records, they’ve also been having a problem with customers putting Paul Simon’s Graceland in the Vampire Weekend section. Seriously, who would do such a thing? Damn kids! They think they’re so smart calling out Vampire Weekend on their influences.
Anywho, Vampire Weekend is going on tour almost every day for the next five years, and for part of their busy schedule they are doing a US tour with LA-based Smell staples Abe Vigoda. So enough about Vampire Weekend; let’s talk about Abe Vigoda! The group will be hopping aboard the Vampire train starting March 22 in Minneapolis, just after they do a short stint with Lovvers. They’ll be premiering brand new songs from their as-yet-untitled follow-up to last year’s Reviver EP, which is set to be released by Post Present Medium sometime this summer.
