Aww, well isn’t that special? Experimental electronic music’s favorite dynamic duo, Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto, are teaming up yet again for a trio of concerts in June.
If you’re someone who hangs out on TMT even occasionally, you’ll probably recall that the odd couple’s recent collabs include their soundtrack for The Revenant and a performance at Philip Johnson’s architectural marvel “The Glass House,” a roomless domicile encased entirely with the fragile material. They’ve also released five albums together over the years; their kinship is the real deal.
Adorably, the upcoming European shows are titled “Two.” This bromance is so deep they should just do a buddy cop movie together. Suggested title: “Clicks + Cops?”
But until that happens, catch Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto [musically] finishing each other’s sentences in Europe, naturally with all-new material. So, if you’re in Europe this June, come say “hi” and listen to the special buds make some more of that warm and fuzzy music together:
06.13.18 - Berlin, Germany - Funkhaus
06.17.18 - Barcelona, Spain - Sonar Festival
06.20.18 - London, UK - The Barbican
