Forget those other seasons, give me fall. Winter and summer are unbearable for opposite reasons. Spring is nothing special and has too much sneezing. Fall, that’s where it’s at. The weather’s pleasant, everything gets coated in pleasing earth tones, and you get a good excuse to drink warm apple cider. Post-emo titans The Appleseed Cast know this; that’s why they’re called The Appleseed Cast. Did you know that the band’s name actually refers to their ritual of planting apple trees to harvest for delicious, delicious apple cider? It’s true.
Once the cider’s brewed, The Appleseed Cast will take it with them on their forthcoming fall tour. Nothing like sipping on that sweet cider after playing a set full of songs from your recently released Middle States EP. Except for maybe wearing a scarf. The wonders of fall are plentiful. Still, fall won’t last forever, which is why the group is currently working on their next full-length, due out in 2012. It is the only way they can protect themselves from the ravages of winter and — shudder — spring.
