As we all know, super bouncy indie poppers Architecture in Helsinki are not from Helsinki. They are from Melbourne. Ever since we all learned this, the elephant in the room has always been, have Architecture in Helsinki ever played in Helsinki? To answer that question: I don’t know, but maybe they have. While we’re at it, let’s take down some other burning questions. Have of Montreal played Montreal? Yes. Did Mission of Burma ever take a mission to Burma? Hard to know, considering any definite answer is clouded by whether you refer to the country as Burma or Myanmar. Have Woods ever played a show in the woods? Probably, but if nobody is there to hear Woods play in the woods, do Woods even make a sound?
Perhaps we’ve gotten off on a tangent here. The point is, I’m not sure if Architecture in Helsinki have ever played Helsinki and, since it’s a hard question to answer through Google, somebody else will have to tell you. What I can tell you, however, is that Architecture in Helsinki are definitely playing in North America during the summer. It is undeniable, a fact that needs no Google search at all, but simply a quick scroll down this page to the listed dates. Here’s a little more information for you, for free: Architecture in Helsinki very recently released a new record, Moment Bends, through Cooperative/Downtown Music. While we haven’t reviewed it here and I have yet to hear it, I’ll give you a review anyway: probably bouncy, probably fun, probably pretty alright.
