Bary Center — a.k.a. Appalachia’s Mark Williams — is a busy man. This year alone, he has released numerous projects, including two full albums, a split tape, and a digital album of dronescapes. He has also played over 30 shows this year.
These activities don’t seem to have drained his energy one bit. Case in point: the new (and TMT-premiered) video for “Dead Savant,” an aggressive electronic track from the upcoming Just Dust, which comes out next month. The dark, drone-ish song sounds like equal parts Ben Frost and Steve Reich, blended on an electric soundboard in hell. It is what I would expect to hear in the background if my life were a David Cronenberg film. Beware the video’s visuals — they have forced me to reconsider eating dinner tonight.
