Beach House are on tour this spring, but this isn’t just ANY basic-ass tour. This tour features “installation shows,” where they’ll be journeying to apartment complexes and single-family homes across America and installing bidets, new shower heads, and even, for a few lucky senior citizens, walk-in showers all while playing the hits off of Thank Your Lucky Stars, Devotion, and their self-titled debut.
Wait. Update. These are ART installation shows. Wrong type of installation. Alas, America, your upgraded bathrooms will have to wait, because you’re about to get a [Oprah Voice] CULTURE UPGRADE!!!!! Which is to say that the band will be offering tickets to shows in art spaces, non-traditional venues, community centers, and galleries in Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Baltimore, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle, with the venue announcement made to existing ticketholders 24-48 hours prior to the shows. Beach House will be creating their own art installation just for the tour and just for these dates.
The shows will occur in conjunction with the band’s Thank Your Lucky Stars/Depression Cherry tour, with tickets for the March dates currently on sale. April and May show dates will be on sale soon with details via the Beach House website.
