Guys, Big K.R.I.T. is from the same state as I am! Mississippi! He’s from Meridian! I’m from Hattiesburg! We were growing up roughly 100 miles away from each other! With this information in place, we are clearly the best of friends. Sure, he’s an increasingly successful rapper/producer, while I only write news for the greatest music website in the world. That doesn’t mean we can’t hang out all the time and drink beers and have laughs. We do these things.
Last time we were hanging out, having a Beer ‘n’ Bellows™ session, Big K.R.I.T. let me know that his new album, Live from the Underground, was coming out this June through Def Jam. He also told FACT Magazine, because FACT Magazine is always butting into our buddy time, even though THEY’RE NOT OUR FRIEND. You hear that, FACT Magazine! Ugh. The worst, but I guess they’re alright. Anyway, my best friend told me that the record is “a representation of how I feel about underground vs mainstream music.” I told him that I write my Tiny Mix Tapes stories by “usually coming up with a dumb pun, then I dunno.”
