Björk is set on turning the entirety of her latest album, last year’s Vulnicura, into a full VR experience. The Icelandic artist made the announcement concurrently with the opening of Björk Digital in Sydney, a traveling exhibition that lets attendees watch interactive VR videos for four of Vulnicura’s songs, as well as play around with some of the iPad-app instruments Björk used to make 2011’s Biophilia.
“I feel the chronological narrative of the album is ideal for the private circus virtual reality is: a theatre able to capture the emotional landscape of it,” Björk wrote on her website. She added that the Sydney premiere of the fourth virtual reality video from Vulnicura is “a further step into completing the full vulnicura vr album which will come out soon.”
After Sydney, Björk Digital is heading to Tokyo, London, Paris, Houston, and a few other cities, with possibly more videos along the way. For now, check out a preview of the VR version of Vulnicura below:
