Time to bust out your pent-up, Reagan-era aggression, friends: post-punk legends Bush Tetras are BACK and helping bring those 1981 vibes to 2018 where they really belong! Their first new music in over ten years is an EP called Take the Fall, and it’s out NOW via Wharf Cat. Gee, I really hope they remember to file as recording artists on their taxes this year…
Take the Fall marks the band’s first release of new music since the passing of original bassist Laura Kennedy. The rest of the original lineup — Cynthia Sley, Pat Place, and Dee Pop — return here with bassist Val Opielski, and the results are as authentic to their classic sound as anything conventional human thought could possibly conceive. It’s true! Listen to pre-release single “Red Heavy” below if you don’t believe me! Gosh!!
That said, if records aren’t nearly corporeal enough for you and you prefer your “no wave experience” as originally intended, Bush Tetras have a string of dates at which you can watch them play instruments in real time, including an album release show at Le Poisson Rogue in NYC tomorrow, April 14 (tickets available for that here). Check out the full itinerary below.
Otherwise, grab the EP on CD or vinyl here, or visit your favorite digital platform if you live IN THE CLOUD.
