Take a look at those beauties up there! In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Captured Tracks is releasing some of the tracks it has captured over the past decade back into the wild…in the form of limited edition vinyl represses of some highlights from the label’s back catalog.
Captured Tracks was founded in 2008 by the badassedly named Mike Sniper of Blank Dogs, and it has grown steadily over the ensuing decade, now existing as part of the Omnian Music Group, through which it partners with several other labels, including Mike Simonetti’s 2MR and New Zealand’s Flying Nun.
Blouse’s self-titled 2011 debut is the first album getting re-press treatment, in an edition of 500 ice-cold, refreshing slabs of coke-bottle-green vinyl. The series of re-presses will continue over the summer and into the fall with releases from Mac DeMarco, Wild Nothing, and more, as well as label samplers and…[Dragnet horn riff plays]…MYSTERY RELEASES!
Visit Captured Tracks for info as the roll-out progresses, relive a couple of these classic tracks in captivity, and view the full schedule of releases (and speculate about those mystery releases) below.
